Learning from the World, Serving North Carolina
The Center for International Understanding is an organization under the umbrella of the University of North Carolina that seeks to educate current and future leaders about the world beyond U.S. shores.
Our goal is to make North Carolina one of the most globally engaged states in the nation. As globalization plays an ever-increasing role in the economy of North Carolina, our current and future leaders need to be globally competent and aware in order to succeed in a changing world.
We work through a series of international programs for policy, business and education leaders focused on issues vital to North Carolina’s economy and also within K-12 schools to prepare our future leaders to engage with the world.
Founded in 1979, the Center, along with 17 campuses and other educational organizations, is part of the University of North Carolina.
