Policymakers at the county level understand the economic impact of welcoming global engagement. I just presented our North Carolina Global Heat Map to the Board of Directors of the NC Association of County Commissioners.
In attendance were three dozen county government leaders from all across our State, and they expressed interest in and support of the Center’s effort to visually demonstrate the level of North Carolina’s global engagement. If you haven’t checked it out, our SAS-built Heat Map provides 53 indicators – demographic, education and economic data – to show global connections in each of North Carolina’s 100 counties. NCACC Executive Director David Thompson and I had a chance to discuss some ways our two organizations can work together to expand the data available through the Heat Map.
