The Center for International Understanding is building Mexico School Partnerships to provide North Carolina students a way to learn with – and not just about – students in another country. A group of Triangle-area teachers and principals is heading to Guanajuato, Mexico.

The goal of the November 2010 program is to establish a better understanding of the culture, history and education system in Mexico and in the state of Guanajuato and to communicate the same about North Carolina in Guanajuato.

Much of the cross-border learning throughout the upcoming school year will take place through the Internet and e-conferencing.

There are a total of 18 educators on four county teams — Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake — participating in the program. For more information, click here.
